mission
My food is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to finish His work. John 4:34
That which gives meaning to Tim's life, that sustains him in his purpose and makes him strong when he has struggles, is his belief that he has something to do on this earth that matters to God and makes a difference for all eternity.
As a young man, deciding that he would like to be a singer/songwriter who presented Christian songs to the world, he prayed that God would show him how a singer/songwriter could be used. God gave him the verses from Isaiah 61:1 - 3.
1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
From then on he understood that his mission in life was to tell the good news of what Jesus has done for us. And so, at his concerts, he tells stories and sing songs that show Jesus as our Healer of broken hearts, as our Seeker and Finder of lost sheep, as our Perfect Sacrifice - our Lamb without blemish; as our Freer of the prisoners of sin; as our Bearer of the weak; as our Vine and Provider of all that we need; as the Beloved of our souls, our Good Shepherd. His mission is to tell people, Christian and unChristian, that Jesus Christ really, truly, is The Answer to the problem of the human condition, and to encourage them through sharing his experiences and songs to trust Him as their Lord and Saviour.
